Gary Neville spotted Bryan Mbeumo shaking his head while looking at Diogo Dalot after being substituted during Manchester United's 3-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Benjamin Sesko came on as a substitute to replace the Cameroon international and soon scored United's third goal of the game. Mbeumo has come off in each of the team's last three matches, but appeared to be limping this time around.
The forward also seemed to say something to Dalot while making his way off the pitch. Neville noticed that interaction with his teammate while working as a co-commentator on the game for Sky Sports.
Neville said on Sky Sports: "Is he injured, is he limping, Mbeumo? He was shaking his head when he walked off and looked at one of the United players as if he might be carrying something."
Mbeumo has started every match under Michael Carrick, with the first fixture he took charge of coinciding with the Cameroon international's return from the Africa Cup of Nations. After scoring the opening goal in that game, he also equalised a week later at Emirates Stadium.
Mbeumo, however, was replaced by Matheus Cunha midway through the second half. The forward lasted longer against Fulham, only being withdrawn for Leny Yoro in the sixth minute of added-time, two after Sesko scored the winner.
Joshua Zirkzee came on for Mbeumo late on against Tottenham Hotspur after again scoring the opener. He finally played the full 90 minutes away to West Ham United, assisting Sesko's 96th-minute equaliser.
