Casemiro has confirmed he will leave Manchester United this summer when his contract expires, though journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed what he’s hearing regarding a potential U-turn.
The Brazilian has experienced some difficult spells since joining from Real Madrid, but he has impressed this season under both Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick.
United have been a better side when he's in the team, and he's been a serious threat from set-pieces, including a goal against Aston Villa at the weekend.
Casemiro has now scored seven Premier League goals so far this campaign, while also contributing with two assists, so there's no doubt he would be a useful asset to the Red Devils if he were to stay next season.
Romano: Casemiro and Man Utd Update
Casemiro after being sent off for Manchester United against Chelsea
Reporting on his YouTube channel, Romano has confirmed that nobody at Manchester United has told Casemiro that they want him to stay at the club. As it stands, Casemiro has decided to leave the club and it's looking likely that it could stay that way.
"Casemiro already decided to move on at the moment. What I can tell you and what I can answer to Manchester United fans is that no one from the club has told Casemiro, 'please stay with us for one more season'. Let's see what's going to happen from now to the end of the season. Maybe these kind of situations could happen at the very end of the season, when you are maybe sure about the project you're going to do and continue in terms of manager, in terms of Champions League football and all the rest. But at the moment, still, nothing changed between Casemiro and United."
Casemiro is out of contract in the summer, so it's entirely his decision if he wants to leave the club. A contract offer from the Manchester club might change things, but it appears the Red Devils aren't pushing for him to stay at Old Trafford as it stands.

Casemiro has certainly drastically improved this season, but there's no hiding from the fact that he has been disappointing for large periods during his time at United. The Brazilian is also 34 years old, so he's not going to get any quicker or more agile, and he's only going to slow down, physically and in terms of his performance levels.
Parting ways would still make sense, especially with the former Real Madrid man being one of the highest earners at Old Trafford.
Casemiro could still offer something to United next season, but the club will be weighing up whether it makes financial sense, while the 34-year-old has already communicated his decision.
