Bryan Mbeumo was less than pleased that he was the forward sacrificed to make way for Benjamin Sesko yesterday.
The Cameroonian was granted 75 minutes of action against Aston Villa before being withdrawn, seeing out a third straight game without a goal contribution.

How Mbeumo reacted to substitution
He didn’t hide his frustrated reaction when being informed of Michael Carrick’s decision, either.
Mbeumo was spotted shaking his head and gesturing with his arms before he made his way around the pitch, applauding the fans as they chanted his name.

Thankfully, the Slovenian went on to net United’s final goal only four minutes later! 😆

Another blank display won’t come as too much of a concern to Carrick, given the attacker has already registered a hugely impressive nine goals and three assists in 25 matches this term.
Why Carrick was right to replace Mbeumo with Sesko
However, the fact that his replacement, Sesko, scored once again off the bench may prompt Carrick to make a change to his XI for the trip to Bournemouth on Friday night – albeit it would most likely be for Amad Diallo, who dropped to the bench in place of the centre-forward for matches against Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.
Fans will be keen for Sesko to regain his spot in order to keep his scintillating goalscoring streak alive while continuing to build his confidence, and see that his stellar showings are being recognised and rewarded.

(Sesko’s league record since the turn of the year)
He has now found the back of the net seven times in his last nine Premier League appearances, with Sunday’s addition showing the type of scrappy, striker’s finish that supporters have been desperate to see from him.
Should he continue coming in clutch with such vital contributions, the 22-year-old will prove to be worth every penny of his £73 million transfer fee.
