Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has revealed every Red Devils star wanted Casemiro to stay at the club. The Brazilian confirmed earlier this season that he would be leaving come the end of the season.
There is an option in his contract to extend his stay for a further season but that will not be taken up by either the club or the player. Since then, Casemiro has enjoyed a stunning turnaround at Old Trafford.
He netted his seventh goal of the season in the recent win against Aston Villa and Yoro has revealed that many in the dressing room wanted him to stay.
The French defender said: "Everyone wanted him to stay, he's a player [who is] really important for us.
"Even in the dressing room, every day, he has the experience that no one else has in the team. He won everything, so this helped us a lot in the games and even outside the pitch."
United boss Carrick was also asked about Casemiro’s future after the victory against Villa but reaffirmed that there would not be a u-turn. He said: "I think it's when something's decided and in some ways the fact that it was decided makes things a little bit easier and everyone understands the situation really.
"I think the impact he's had has been terrific, certainly since I've been here and working with him and his influence within the team and big moments and goals."
United icon Wayne Rooney was also full of praise for Casemiro following his goalscoring appearance. Speaking on Match of the Day, the legendary former forward revealed that he would have offered him a new deal at Old Trafford.

"I would now," the United legend replied. "I said early on in his time at Manchester United I didn't think he quite had the legs to get round. I think a few people felt the same, but I take that back. I think he's been absolutely fantastic."
Casemiro has just eight more outings as a Man United player between now and the end of the season, starting with this Friday’s clash with Bournemouth on the South Coast. He could yet help the Red Devils to a spot in the Champions League before his exit, with United now sitting third in the table and three points clear of nearest rivals Villa.
