Leny Yoro admits he was among the Manchester United players who wanted Casemiro to stay before it was announced in January that he would be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Casemiro played a pivotal role in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa by scoring the opening goal. It was his sixth goal from a set piece this season, leading the Stretford End to sing about wanting him to stay for another year.
It was another game, under Michael Carrick, where Casemiro had a huge influence on the result. In the previous encounter against Villa, we lost and were without the Brazilian veteran due to suspension.
Many factors will be missed when Casemiro leaves United, but at least Ineos have time to identify the right replacements for the five-time Champions League winner.
I would pay a MAXIMUM of £___ per-week to Casemiro to extend his contract
Fill in the blank with your offer. Casemiro earns around £350k/week right now. Will you go high or walk away?

Leny Yoro doesn’t want Casemiro to leave Man Utd
Since Leny Yoro arrived at United from Lille, Casemiro has been a senior member of the dressing room.
That means Yoro has learned from Casemiro during his time at the club, so it will be very different when he eventually departs.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who has impressed of late under Carrick, has said the United squad were keen for Casemiro to stay at Old Trafford before the midfielder announced his intention to leave at the end of the season.

“Everyone wanted him to stay, he’s a player [who is] really important for us,” Yoro told ESPN.
“Even in the dressing room, every day, he has the experience that no one else has in the team.
“He won everything, so this helped us a lot in the games and even outside the pitch.”
It is understood that United still have the option to trigger a one-year extension in Casemiro’s contract, but a U-turn would be seen as unlikely at this point.
Harry Maguire is a player who could stay beyond the expiry of his contract in the summer. The England international would have been a huge influence on Yoro since he arrived in Manchester, like Casemiro.

Leny Yoro reflects on help from Harry Maguire
Yoro doesn’t hide away from the fact he is learning from Maguire.
The experienced centre-back has been crucial in United’s defence of late, especially with Lisandro Martinez out injured.
Yoro told the Daily Mail, when asked about Maguire’s help: “With all the experience he has he gave me a lot of tips.
“He spoke to me a lot on the pitch, so this helped me a lot.
“He always speaks with me, like [dealing with] the striker, sometimes he speaks before the game, or at half-time, about positioning as well, so playing with him is really good for me.”
Like Casemiro, Yoro wants Maguire to stay.
“Yeah, of course, having Harry in the team is good for us,” he said.
“If he can stay next season, it’s really good for us. So I hope he’s going to extend his contract and he can stay with us. We’ll see, we’ll see anyway.”
