Barroso has been a contributor for Real Madrid C. In the UEFA Youth League, he’s tacked on three goals in five games, according to Transfermarkt. However, in league play, he has only played in 12 of the 27 possible games up to this point.

Jacobo Ortega, another teenage striker prospect, has had a more consistent run of games for the reserve side, making it difficult for Barroso to truly make an impact.

At the first-team level, Kylian Mbappe has struggled with injuries, leaving that striker position in a state of limbo. Gonzalo Garcia has stepped up as a contributor, and although he isn’t at the level of Mbappe in terms of pace or finishing ability, he has been more than serviceable at times.

Jaime Barroso won’t touch the first team for quite a bit unless injuries pile up to an unnatural amount. Nevertheless, his name is one to watch in a few years’ time.
