Several Manchester United players played a part in Manchester United’s win over Aston Villa, but none more than Bruno Fernandes, adding to his incredible tally of Premier League assists.
Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Sunday with a strong second-half display that warranted three points. The win gave Michael Carrick’s side a grip on the race for a top four finish.
Bruno Fernandes recorded two assists – setting up Casemiro’s opener and Matheus Cunha’s finish to restore United’s lead. Two outstanding goals showcased Fernandes at his best.
It took Fernandes’ tally to 16 assists in the Premier League this term, beating David Beckham’s previous club record of 15 from the 1999/2000 campaign. He needs another four assists to reach the all-time Premier League record, with eight games to play.

Bruno Fernandes stats this season
Although Fernandes spent the first half of the season deployed in a deeper midfield role under Ruben Amorim, the Portugal international’s figures still speak volumes and can help explain why United are in the position they find themselves currently.
Fernandes has played a total of 29 games this season, which is a little in terms of what he is used to at United, due to the lack of European football and fixtures in domestic cup competitions. There are just eight games left before the 2025/26 season concludes, too.
The 31-year-old has scored seven goals and registered 17 assists in total, including an assist he picked up in the FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
Fernandes will be aiming to make it 20 Premier League assists by the end of the season.
