Looking into the winners of the Premier League Player of the Season Awards, from a Manchester United perspective.
Manchester United dominated the Premier League during the Sir Alex Ferguson era, winning 13 titles.
But that did not always mean that United players won the individual awards.
The sheer volume of top United contenders often split the vote, and saw individuals from other clubs receive the honours.

As debate rages over whether Bruno Fernandes should win the 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season Awards, it is clear there is a precedent.
Fernandes is regrettably not playing for a title-winning United team, but he is by far and away the standout contender – as called by United In Focus at the start of February.
Here is a look at the winner of all the awards during United’s title winning seasons under Ferguson.

Has a Man Utd player won the award in a season we have not won the title?
No United player has won the award since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. During Ferguson’s reign between 1986 and 2013, there were seasons in which United failed to win the title and players were still honoured.
Mark Hughes won the PFA Award in 1988/89 and 1990/91
Gary Pallister won the PFA Award in 1991/92
Ruud van Nistelrooy won the PFA Player of the Year in 2001/02
Wayne Rooney won the PFA Player of the Year and the Premier League Award in 2009/10
