Ben Foster was left in complete awe at the stunning exploits of Bruno Fernandes after the Manchester United captain’s impact against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes’ Manchester United masterclass earned high praise from Red Devils supporters after the club secured all three Premier League points on Sunday.
The 31-year-old Man Utd captain picked up his first assist after Fernandes’ dangerous corner-kick was expertly dispatched by Casemiro’s superb header.
Fernandes would once again play a key part in the Red Devils’ attacking threat after his excellent through-ball to Matheus Cunha spliced open the Aston Villa defence.

Matheus Cunha superbly read what Bruno Fernandes was about to do after his Manchester United teammate found the perfect pass to play him through.
The 26-year-old Brazilian forward latched onto the ball and Cunha darted towards the Aston Villa net before dispatching a low strike into the bottom corner of the net.

Cunha cancelled out Ross Barkley’s second-half equaliser for Villa and the United summer signing put the Red Devils into a 2-1 lead at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Speaking after Man Utd’s 3-1 win over Villa, Ben Foster insisted that Fernandes’ assist for Cunha at the weekend was nothing short of “world class” in his eyes.
“So, Bruno, obviously, two assists in the game,” he said on the Fozcast podcast.
“The second one was just world class, yeah? That to me is a proper assist, right? He’s just beaten David Beckham’s assist record, right? Sir David Beckham, sorry.”
Foster later added: “Yeah, I know, but yeah, that’s like Bruno, yesterday, he was just, honestly phenomenal.”

Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd assist tally for the 2025-26 Premier League season takes him to new heights
Fernandes’ impact on Man Utd’s Premier League result over Villa has taken his impressive assist tally to 16 from 27 league matches in the current campaign.
The Portugal international has now eclipsed Red Devils legend Sir David Beckham for the Man Utd player to have the most assists in a single Premier League season.
Fernandes has eight Premier League matches left to match or eclipse the assist record in an individual season, which is held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Red Devils skipper has netted seven times and picked up 17 assists overall in 29 matches across all competitions for Man Utd in the 2025-26 season so far.
