Peter Schmeichel has singled out the most important way that Michael Carrick should handle in-form Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko for the rest of his reign.
Benjamin Sesko has now hit double digits for his goalscoring tally after the 22-year-old forward made an impact in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
The Slovenia international climbed off the bench — replacing Bryan Mbeumo in the 77th minute — before finding the back of the net in the 82nd minute of the tie.
Sesko has netted 10 times and registered one assist in his debut season at Old Trafford after the Red Devils signed him from RB Leipzig last summer.

Peter Schmeichel’s reaction to Benjamin Sesko’s red-hot form at Man Utd under Michael Carrick
Benjamin Sesko has been in a rich vein of goalscoring form since Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim as the Premier League club’s head coach in January.
The United striker has scored an impressive five times in his last eight Premier League appearances since Michael Carrick took charge at the Red Devils.

However, Sesko has been in and out of the Man Utd starting XI under Michael Carrick, who has used Bryan Mbeumo as the lone forward over the striker.
Speaking after Man Utd’s Premier League result over Aston Villa, Peter Schmeichel hailed the superb “instincts” of former RB Leipzig ace Sesko on Sunday.
“It’s great to have players where you think, when they come on, that there’s a chance, a very, very good chance, that they’re going to score,” he said on Viaplay, as per the Metro.
“He’s got great instincts and we’ve seen this now in the last eight or nine games. His instincts are very good.”

Peter Schmeichel thinks Benjamin Sesko is not ready to lead the Man Utd frontline under Michael Carrick
Sesko has only made three Premier League starts in his eight appearances under United legend Carrick amid the Red Devils’ superb run of form in recent months.
Carrick has only tasted one Premier League defeat from his nine-match interim spell so far, which came in Man Utd’s encounter with Newcastle earlier this month.
Schmeichel insisted that Carrick would be in a better position to keep Sesko as a ‘super sub’ for the short term instead of starting the Slovenia striker for United.
“I’m not sure he’s completely ready to be a starting number nine in every game, so I thought it was quite good of Michael Carrick to keep him on the bench and keep him hungry,” he added.
“He’s come on and he is enthusiastic.”
United are third in the Premier League table and the Red Devils will now face Bournemouth in their clash at the Vitality Stadium on Friday evening.
