Stuart Attwell will referee the game between Manchester United and Bournemouth.
Michael Carrick’s Manchester United take on Bournemouth on Friday night, looking to strengthen the grip on the Champions League places.
United are in third place in the table after hitting form since Michael Carrick’s appointment. Too many points were dropped prior to his arrival to make challenging for the title a realistic possibility.
Two points were dropped when Manchester United drew 2-2 at Burnley in January when Darren Fletcher was in charge.
A critical error in the game at Turf Moor came from referee Stuart Attwell.

Man Utd wrongly denied goal vs Burnley
Manchester United were wrongly disallowed a goal against Burnley when Lisandro Martinez’s strike from a corner was ruled out.

The officiating team cancelled the goal due to a ‘foul’ on Kyle Walker, following a VAR review.
The Premier League later issued a verdict stating this was the incorrect decision.
BBC Sport reported: “Lisandro Martinez’s goal for Manchester United at Burnley should not have been ruled out by referee Stuart Attwell, the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has said.”
Attwell’s decision to blow the whistle was criticised, with the panel ruling that it should have been ruled a goal on the pitch – and not even sent to VAR in the first place.
The panel felt that “the contact was exaggerated by Walker and the decision to disallow the goal for a foul was incorrect”.
Are Roy Keane’s concerns valid? Or is he just adding needless negativity to the Michael Carrick debate?

Attwell’s first Man Utd match since
Manchester United’s visit to Bournemouth will be the first Red Devils game that Stuart Attwell has refereed since.
Earlier in the season he officiated United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.
Last season he was in charge as United were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties against Fulham.
The first ever United game he refereed was in 2011, a 2-0 win over Norwich under Sir Alex Ferguson.
He notably officiated the 4-0 defeat under Louis van Gaal against MK Dons.
