Tyler Fletcher has been called up to the Scotland U21 squad for the first time ahead of a double-header against Czechia and Portugal.
It’s been an amazing start to the year for Tyler Fletcher.
In February, Darren Fletcher’s son became the 258th academy graduate in United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham under Michael Carrick.
Now, he could be on the verge of representing his country at U21 level, following in his father’s footsteps.

Tyler Fletcher called up for Euro U21 qualifiers
United academy star Fletcher has been called up by Scot Gemmell for Scotland’s upcoming Euro U21 qualifiers against Czechia and Portugal.
The 18-year-old, who has made one Premier League appearance, has never represented Scotland at U21 level before now, as it’s his first call-up.
It remains to be seen if United plan to send Fletcher or his twin brother, Jack.

The news means Tyler will now benefit from gaining further experience as a youth player. It can only aid his development to be playing international football with a different group of players.
Tyler is now part of a 23-man squad for the upcoming qualifiers.

Goalkeepers: Woody Williamson (Ipswich Town), Liam McFarlane (Heart of Midlothian – on loan to Alloa Athletic), Ruairidh Adams (Dundee United – on loan to East Fife).
Defenders: Dylan Lobban, Mitchel Frame (both Aberdeen), Colby Donovan (Celtic), Luke Graham (Dundee), Sam Cleall-Harding (Dundee United), Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen (Dunfermline Athletic), Connor Allan (Falkirk), Matthew Anderson (KV Kortrijk).
Midfielders: Kristi Montgomery (Blackburn Rovers), Kyle Ure (Celtic – on loan to Ayr United), David Watson (Kilmarnock), Tyler Fletcher (Manchester United), Cameron Bragg (Southampton).
Forwards: Ryan One (Sheffield United – on loan to Lincoln City), Andrew Tod (Dunfermline Athletic), Barney Stewart (Falkirk), James Wilson (Heart of Midlothian – on loan to Tottenham Hotspur), Robbie Ure (IK Sirius), Dire Mebude (Caykur Rizespor), Emilio Lawrence (Manchester City – on loan to Luton Town).

Darren Fletcher’s international record
Fletcher made 81 appearances for the Scotland national team throughout his career.
The former United midfielder never made it to a tournament with Scotland, with all of his appearances coming in qualifiers as well as 31 friendly matches.
His two sons have a long way to go to achieve such feats at the international level.
Fletcher scored five goals and registered eight assists for Scotland.
