Manchester United will have to make do without the player from next season
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro ‘doesn’t have the legs’ anymore in the middle of the park, says ex-Premier League striker Chris Sutton. The Brazil international, who has 82 caps under his belt, is leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season. His contract expires in late June and he is due to become a free agent.
The Red Devils won 3-1 at home against Aston Villa last time out. Casemiro managed to get himself on the scoresheet. Michael Carrick’s side remain sat in 3rd position in the table behind Arsenal and Manchester City and look well on their way to getting back into the Champions League.

Former Norwich City, Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea man Sutton has delivered his honest verdict on Manchester United’s Casemiro on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club: "I don't really get the debate. "I think this is a bit of sentimental guff more than anything. If Manchester United want to really move forward as a club, Casemiro isn't the future for that. He's been a great player but it comes to us all, he just doesn't have the legs he once had."
Casemiro, 34, has a big decision on where he wants to play his football next. He will be considering his options and will be weighing up his next destination. The veteran has been on the books of United since joining them back in 2022.
Prior to his switch to England, he spent nine years on the books at Real Madrid. The Sao Paolo academy graduate went on to make 336 appearances for the La Liga giants. He has since played 154 matches for the Red Devils and has found the net on 24 occasions, seven of which have come this term.
