Joshua Zirkzee Manchester United
Bucharest, Romania – January 30, 2025: Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United striker, at National Arena for Uefa Europa League match, last game of group stage with FCSB.
Joshua Zirkzee has repeatedly been linked with an exit from Manchester United. The summer transfer window could finally bring an end to his spell at Old Trafford.
In 2026, the Dutchman hasn’t started a single game in the Premier League. He has featured for only 28 minutes, having been left on the bench against Aston Villa at the weekend.
The instability at the club has also affected him, with the striker much more used to the stability that Bologna offered.
His career is now clearly stagnating at Manchester United. Sport Witness covered Tuttomercatoweb’s claims about his regret regarding a failure to seek an exit. He is now keen to depart, with TuttoSport adding on to his situation today.
Zirkzee left saddened in Manchester
The newspaper report that after hesitating in the past, Zirkzee now truly appears keen on leaving Manchester United.
Over the past few months, he has turned down approaches from not just Italian sides but also from clubs in Spain and Germany. Roma had pushed for his signature in the January transfer window, having offered an initial loan with an obligation to buy. While the opportunity was promising, the 24-year-old preferred staying at Old Trafford.
Now, he feels ‘discouraged and saddened’ by the situation at Manchester United. He had hoped for things to turn around under Michael Carrick but the expectation has now faded.
Joorabchian engineering exit, Juventus interested
TuttoSport further make it clear that Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian is ready to take action in the summer. Work is already underway to find a new destination for the Netherlands international, with a return to Serie A appearing likely.
This has attracted the attention of Juventus, who have tried to sign him in the past. His profile has always appealed to the Old Lady management and now, the Bianconeri feel like they have a big chance of signing Zirkzee.
This is mainly because Manchester United’s asking price has reduced and should be currently at around €25m. This valuation makes Zirkzee a ‘low cost opportunity’ and the Italian giants can attempt an initial loan with an option to buy deal.
Zirkzee should leave Manchester United
While TuttoSport’s price tag seems to be based on simple amortisation, the striker should actively seek a departure.
He was full of promise before he arrived in England after an impressive spell at Bologna and it has now faded. Zirkzee has also fallen off the radar of the Dutch national side, which says everything about his situation.
Manchester United have no reason to reduce their price-tag, as things stand. There have been suggestions of interest from Premier League clubs, who can possibly pay more than Juventus or Italian sides.
That €25m feels more like hope than expectation, and will go higher.
