“Arsenal?” – Agent responds to claims of Gunners chasing player desired by Arteta

Francesco Pio Esposito

Milan, Italy, 14th February 2026. Lega Calcio Serie A Season 2025-2026, FC Internazionale v Juventus FC, Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Francesco Pio Esposito of FC Internazionale celebrates after scoring to give the hosts a 2-1 lead during the match.

Pio Esposito’s agent Mario Giuffredi has dismissed claims of Arsenal as an option for the Inter Milan striker.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a fan of the 20-year-old and had hopes of bringing him to the Emirates in the summer.

His development and potential would have pleased the Premier League side. He graduated from the Serie A side’s academy and made his way to the first team in 2023.

However, the youngster couldn’t immediately cement a place at the San Siro. Therefore, Inter Milan sent him on loan to Spezia Calcio, and he enjoyed regular minutes in the Serie B.

In July 2024, the Nerazzurri extended his temporary stay with the second division Italian for another season. Esposito managed 22 goals and three assists from 79 matches in two years.

On his return to Inter Milan, Cristian Chivu included the attacker in his plans this season. He scored eight goals and contributed six assists from 39 matches in all competitions so far. Below are his stats from Serie A this season.

Expected Goals: 4.87

Expected Assists: 1.18

Key passes per game: 0.6

Big chances created: 2

Big chances missed: 11

Aerial duels won per game: 1.3

The Gunners are among the clubs to have taken notice of his performances for the club.

Arsenal transfer links squashed

On March 3rd, Sport Witness relayed news of Arteta asking Arsenal director Andrea Berta of signing Esposito. Therefore, the north London club have made an approach to try and sign him.

Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta then dismissed the Gunners links. Giuffredi now joins him to rule out an Arsenal move for his client.

The agent revealed this during an interview with Radio CRC and Sport Mediaset have relayed his comments.

“Arsenal after Pio Esposito? He’s happy at Inter, he’s in love with Inter, and he will be the Nerazzurri’s future for the next 10 years,” he said.

In April 2025, the frontman signed a new contract until 2030. This also puts Inter Milan in a comfortable position to retain him beyond the summer window.

Esposito’s development over the years have helped him improve his value. Transfermarkt now value him at €35m, a highest so far in his short career.

It was €3m when he first joined Spezia and increased to €25m by the time he finished his loan spell. Since the start of this season, it has further increased by €10m.
