Randal Kolo Muani
The futures of Randal Kolo Muani and Jonathan David could be interlinked in the summer transfer window. Tottenham can find themselves in the middle of it all.
The French striker arrived at the London club on a dry loan deal last summer. He has just one Premier League goal but has scored four times in the Champions League, showing glimpses of his ability.
David has found himself in a similar situation in Turin. He arrived at Juve on a free transfer but his spell has been riddled with inconsistency.
Sport Witness have covered how Tottenham tried to sign the Canadian in the summer and could have another chance at landing him at the end of the season. The Old Lady are considering parting ways with David and today’s Gazzetta dello Sport looks at their plan in detail.
Juventus considering swap for Tottenham player
The pink daily state Juve are considering a swap deal involving Kolo Muani and David. They are willing to offer the Canada international to Paris Saint-Germain to bring the Frenchman back to Turin.
This is seen as a convenient way of executing a complex deal and the idea is ‘more than a suggestion’ right now.
There is confidence that the relationship between PSG and Juventus has now been repaired. That does appear quite optimistic, especially after the chaos of last summer.
27-year-old Kolo Muani remains out of Luis Enrique’s plans and Luis Campos is keen to finally get rid of him. Since he has spent two loan deals away from PSG, they would now prefer his permanent exit instead of another temporary move.
The newspaper appear certain that PSG want €40m to sell their player permanently. Juve would more than willingly accept an amount like that to let David depart.
How Tottenham could be impacted by deal
It feels very unlikely that Tottenham will speak to PSG about signing Kolo Muani permanently. He has also faced repeated injuries, which is likely to impact his perception in London.
In that scenario it wouldn’t impact Spurs. There’s always the chance they could buy Kolo Muani themselves and then swap him for David, but they’d probably be able to get the Juve player for less.
