Report: Liverpool interested in £43m deal for Real Madrid midfielder

Change is coming to Liverpool’s midfield.

The Reds have been miles off it this term with head coach Arne Slot getting diminishing returns from certain players in the position.

Ryan Gravenberch and in particular Alexis Mac Allister have not been the same forces this season compared to their form in the 2024/25 Premier League title-winning campaign.

Factor in an uncertain contract situation for Curtis Jones and you can see why Richard Hughes and Arne Slot are considering a shakeup.

Big-money Premier League names like Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton have been mentioned but there is a far better opportunity on offer at Real Madrid.

Quite simply Liverpool cannot miss the chance to sign Eduardo Camavinga - with Madrid ready to listen to offers for the 23-year-old.

Liverpool interested in Camavinga

Camavinga has lost his status as automatic starter for the 15-time European champions and is due to suffer over the emergence of Thiago Pitarch in midfield.

The France international joined Madrid from Rennes back in 2021 - going on to win two European titles in the Spanish capital. Under contract until 2029 Los Blancos would appear to be quite well protected from a transfer fee perspective.

But a report in Football Insider claims thatCamavinga will be available for ONLY £43m - an unmissable deal.

Furthermore the report states that Liverpool are now considering a move for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finalist.

“Liverpool are eyeing up a potential deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer,” the report reads.

“The Spanish giants are willing to listen to offers in excess of the £43million mark for the Frenchman, with the Reds seen as long-term admirers of his ability.

“Los Blancos will not force the starlet out ahead of next season, and any chance of a deal is likely to hinge on whether Camavinga himself is keen to pursue a new challenge.”
