Peter Crouch predicts Leeds United result vs Brentford and says if Whites will go down

Leeds United’s chances of achieving safety look good with eight Premier League games left to play and Peter Crouch has not only predicted the clash against Brentford, but also if Leeds will survive.

Following Sunday’s draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Leeds have eight games left to play, and three points separate The Whites in 15th place from West Ham in 18th. Spurs and Forest sit in between.

Next up for Leeds is the welcome of Brentford under the lights at Elland Road on Saturday evening. A big game, a winnable game, that could see Leeds take a giant leap towards securing Premier League safety.

Speaking on The Peter Crouch podcast, former England and Liverpool star Crouch said: “I think Leeds get a valuable win here, 2-1 Leeds”. The call reflects a belief that Leeds can deliver when it matters most.

Crouch delivers clear Leeds United relegation verdict

Crouch’s wider assessment of the relegation picture places Leeds just above the main battle. Crouch believes that Burnley and Wolves are down, and 18th will be one of West Ham, Spurs or Forest

“If you count Wolves and Burnley, gone. You’ve got Forest, Spurs, West Ham. Leeds are just above them, but Forest, Spurs, West Ham – one of them has got to go,” Crouch said.

He continued by backing Leeds to take a crucial step towards safety against Brentford, pointing to their strength at Elland Road. “I think Leeds will be alright, their home form is good as well”.

The key point is that Leeds are not being dragged into the same category, with Crouch’s verdict centred on their ability to stay clear of the bottom three. His view is Leeds remain in control of their own position.

Opta projection supports Crouch’s Leeds United view

The data aligns with that assessment, with Leeds projected to finish 15th based on current trends. That outcome would keep them clear of the relegation places.

Further projections suggest Leeds could finish on 42 points and face just a 7% chance of relegation. Those numbers reinforce the idea that survival is the most likely outcome.

Leeds United record vs Brentford and Farke’s edge

Historically, Leeds’ record against Brentford shows 15 wins, 17 draws, and 13 defeats. Recent meetings between the sides include draws and narrow wins on both sides rather than a clear pattern of dominance.

There is also a strong managerial factor, with Farke’s record against Brentford standing at five wins from nine games while averaging 2.00 points per game. That track record adds weight to the expectation that Leeds can deliver the result Crouch has predicted.

Leeds head into the Brentford fixture with both external backing and statistical support pointing in the same direction. If they match those expectations, the path to Premier League survival becomes significantly clearer.
