Zlatan Ibrahimovic is heading to the World Cup to be an analyst for broadcaster Fox Sports.

Ibrahimovic, who starred for AC Milan, Internazionale, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in a legendary playing career, will be providing his insight for the American channel.

The iconic Swedish striker played 122 times for his country and scored 62 goals in his international career.

He also played in multiple World Cups and European Championships before he retired as Sweden's all-time top goalscorer.

During a career which spanned 24 years Ibrahimovic became a fan favourite with his incredible acrobatic goalscoring, while his charismatic personality saw him proved countless quotable moments.

The 44-year old will make his television debut alongside Thierry Henry and Rebecca Lowe, with the Fox Sports president saying the iconic footballer was the network's first target as a studio addition.

He said: "Zlatan was at the top of the list of people we wanted to take swings at for this World Cup.

"We put a blank slate on the board, thinking some were longshots and guys who have worked with us in the past and a lot of stuff in between.

"Zlatan was one that there was no reason to not take a swing and see if he would be willing to do this.

The Athletic reported that Fox also pursued David Beckham and Jurgen Klopp for studio roles however the ex-Liverpool manager will be a pundit for Magenta TV.

Notable American pundit and former national team star Alexi Lalas will complete the Fox Sports lineup for the World Cup.

After Ibrahimovic's retirement in 2023, he transitioned into senior management in a senior advisory position with AC Milan's ownership.

The Swede has a strong understanding of football in the States as he scored 53 goals in 58 appearances for LA Galaxy in the MLS.

Fox released a video to announce the signing of the icon with the 44-year-old in Milan, and he says: "Where has everyone gone?
