Man Utd dealt Martinez blow as Carrick issues new injury update

Michael Carrick has been without Lisandro Martinez since Man United’s 1-1 draw against West Ham last month

Martinez has not featured for Man United since the 1-1 draw against West Ham as he suffered a small injury ahead of trip to face Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium at the end of February.

The Argentina international has subsequently missed the last four games, thus affording Leny Yoro an extended run in the team at centre-back alongside Harry Maguire.

In his absence, Man Utd have picked up nine points from a possible 12, rising up to third in the Premier League table as they bid to seal a return to the Champions League for next season.

Carrick, though, will be keen to have Martinez available for selection as soon as possible as United will face fellow top-four hopefuls Chelsea and Liverpool in the run-in.

Man United are next in action on Friday night when they face Bournemouth away from home and Carrick has provided an update on his injured defender.
