Jamie Carragher has already said Everton's summer target is 'off the scale' good

Everton are in the market for a midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hayden Hackney is on Everton’s radar after an impressive season in the Championship with promotion-hopefuls Middlesbrough.

Should Everton be making a summer move for Hayden Hackney at a reported £30m?

Perhaps he'd be a good long-term successor to Idrissa Gana Gueye… 🤔

Kobbie Mainoo has also been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but that now seems unlikely given his role under Michael Carrick.

It’s now being reported that David Moyes remains keen on Tomas Soucek, who is open to leaving West Ham United.

With that said, Jamie Carragher has previously hailed the Everton target and compared him to Marouane Fellaini.

Speaking back in 2021, Carragher waxed lyrical about Everton target Tomas Soucek, explaining that his aerial duels record is ‘off the scale’.

“When we’re talking about box-to-box midfielders, there’s nobody better in the Premier League right now than Soucek,” the Sky Sports pundit stated.

“The goals stand out massively – that is huge for a midfield player and is a big reason why West Ham are where they are.

“Aerial duels won is just off the scale. No midfielder in the last ten years has managed that many… since Marouane Fellaini!”

Since those comments, Soucek has remained a key fixture of West Ham’s midfield, and he could be available for a discounted fee this summer.

That’s because his contract at the London Stadium expires next summer, leaving the Hammers with little negotiating power.

If Everton can get a deal done for around the £10m mark, it’d be a very shrewd acquisition.
