Michael Carrick’s reaction to Bruno Fernandes’ Premier League feat this season

Michael Carrick has insisted that Fernandes’ impressive run of form at the Red Devils could fire the Portuguese ace to the Premier League Player of the Season award.

“I think he’s had a fantastic season, I have to say,” he said at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“It’s not so much [about] who I would vote for, but I’m delighted that he’s playing the way he is and having the impact that he is for us, and he’s proving to be right up there in those conversations.

“I’d love to see him take the award, you know, and it says a lot about what’s going on at this club and how the team’s playing, as well as how well Bruno’s playing.

“So, we’ll have to see how that pans out, but really, really pleased with everything that he’s doing at the moment.”

Fernandes’ latest Player of the Matchweek award came after he picked up two superb assists in Man Utd’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford last Sunday.
