Casemiro is expected to depart Man United when his contract expires in the summer, but former midfielder Kleberson has now suggested his compatriot could be willing to reconsider his choice, saying: "I think he is happy at Man United, but the club has never been in a good position.
"I still think he would like to stay at Man United, or at least he is thinking about it because it has gone so well under Michael Carrick."
The Brazilian is certainly earning a new deal with some of his recent performances, scoring his seventh Premier League goal of the season in the 3-1 victory against Aston Villa last time out.
That said, with the maestro now 34-years-old, the Red Devils may need to bring in a new central midfielder soon, regardless of whether there is a late twist, and they are now stepping up their pursuit of a Premier League star.

According to reporter Christopher Michel on X, Man United are now "seriously working" on a move for Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali, who they have been "keeping tabs" on for a long time.
Indeed, United have been widely linked with a move for Tonali, who is valued at £87m, and he is now "quite open" to a move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Lauded as "sensational" by reporter Mark Douglas, the Italian maestro has been one of Newcastle's most important players in the Premier League this season, with only Malick Thiaw playing more minutes, and he has created the second-highest number of chances in the squad (26).
The 25-year-old is now experienced in the Premier League, making 73 appearances in the competition for the Magpies, while he has also caught the eye in the Champions League, grabbing an assist in a 6-1 demolition of Qarabag last month.
That said, Casemiro has created more chances than the Italian in the Premier League (27), with the 82-time Brazil international also finding the net on seven occasions, while the Newcastle star is yet to score a goal.
Tonali could still be an exciting signing for Man United, but £87m would be a huge fee to shell out, and their main priority should be extending Casemiro's contract beyond the end of the season.
