Report: Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo among five Forest stars Pereira could rest vs Midtjylland

Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 to FC Midtjylland in last week’s Europa League last-16 first leg and have it all to do in Thursday’s second leg.

Things are becoming pretty perilous for Forest at the moment.

What is your score prediction for Nottingham Forest’s trip to Tottenham?

The club remain outside the Premier League’s relegation zone on goal difference alone and face Tottenham in a crunch clash on Sunday afternoon.

That makes the team selection somewhat tricky for Vitor Pereira in Denmark, and now it’s emerged which players might be left out.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo could be rested vs Midtjylland

According to the Daily Mail, Pereira is weighing up making several changes for the second leg against FC Midtjylland.

It’s claimed that Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams, Elliot Anderson, Murillo and Ibrahim Sangare could be left out of the starting eleven tomorrow.

Forest are clearly prioritising the game against Tottenham on Sunday, with Premier League survival the only thing that feels important right now.

Leaving out so many stars wouldn’t be ideal with several fans travelling over to Denmark, but it will be a big opportunity for the club’s fringe players.

Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson both came on against Fulham at the weekend and were brilliant, with those two players likely to get more minutes tomorrow night.

Forest have to ensure Sunday’s team is well rested

The Reds know they have to score if they have any chance of reaching the quarter-final of the Europa League tomorrow night, and the team does need some quality.

Some of the fringe players haven’t made their mark on the club just yet, and there will be some opportunities handed out again tomorrow.

It’s vital that no injuries are picked up, and ultimately, keeping Gibbs-White and Murillo on the bench might not be such a bad thing.

Pereira won’t be in the mood to throw the game, however, and with winning breeding confidence, Forest could desperately do with a positive performance.
