Man Utd hold talks to sign 'world-class' Champions League midfielder, he's available this…

Manchester United have been in contact over a summer deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to TEAMtalk.

After moving one step closer to qualifying for next season's Champions League following their 3-1 win against Aston Villa last weekend, attention off the pitch will be turning to potential transfer targets should they be competing in Europe's elite club competition for the first time since they were knocked out of the old group stage setup in 2023.

Qualification should significantly boost their transfer budget, as well as the calibre of player they could attract to Old Trafford next term.

Man United still have work to do in the remaining matches but if they can keep up their form under Michael Carrick - 22 points from 27 available, they will make it.

Of course, United senior officials also need to decide who the club's next permanent manager is going to be following Carrick's impressive performance in caretaker charge.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United have registered an early interest in a potential summer deal to sign Camavinga from Real Madrid.

Intermediaries acting on behalf of the France international are said to have started telling clubs that the highly-rated 23-year-old will be available for transfer this summer.

Despite making more than 200 appearances for Los Blancos, they are preparing for big changes this summer in terms of management and their squad, and the Frenchman will be sacrificed.

Contact has been made with several Premier League clubs, including United, Chelsea and Liverpool, with the latter currently leading the race.

The report adds that Camavinga would be keen on a move to London, although the £260,000-a-week star does want to be playing Champions League football next term should he depart the Bernabeu.

Camavinga Would be a Smart Purchase for United

If United want to push on and progress next season, then there is no doubt that Camavinga would be a very smart addition.

You don't play more than 200 times for Real Madrid by the age of 23 without having something about you, and he has shown that multiple times in the past.

With starts not guaranteed for the 'world-class' France international this season however, he will have a point to prove at his next club if a move does get the green light this summer.

Camavinga has won 10 trophies during his time with Real, and that knowledge and mentality of winning trophies could be priceless as United look to return to the elite in the coming years.

What could be even more attractive about Camavinga is that reports in recent days have suggested that Real would be listening to offers for as little as £43m to secure his services.

Should that be true, then United should make him one of the two central midfielders they want to sign this summer, with the versatile 23-year-old also showing he can play in different positions like left-back too.
