South American media now give Everton fans Charly Alcaraz update amid tough season for £12.6m…

Charly Alcaraz has endured a difficult time in his first full campaign at Everton.

The Argentine did enough to convince The Friedkin Group to spend £12.6m on his signature after impressing in the second half of last season – following a loan move from Flamengo in January 2025.

However, the current campaign has been brutal for the South American. David Moyes has given the Everton No.24 just six starts in the Premier League, due to a combination of competition for places and injuries.

Now – according to Netfla – Everton are ready to sell Charly Alcaraz this summer.

Everton now deem Charly Alcaraz to be ‘transferable’

Netfla – a news outlet covering Flamengo – are now claiming that Everton are ready to listen to offers for the man born in La Plata this summer.

The former Flamengo man only signed a short-term deal back in May 2025 when Everton made his loan into a permanent move, with his current terms expiring in July 2027.

It means the coming summer represents Everton’s last chance to recoup some of the £12.6m spent on his signature, before The Friedkin Group run the risk of allowing him to arrange a free transfer exit in 2027.

Alcaraz – who Alan Myers feels could play as a striker – has shown his talent on several occasions in an Everton shirt.

However, with others like Tyler Dibling, Merlin Rohl and Harrison Armstrong currently struggling to make the starting XI as well, it has clearly been decided the 23-year-old is expendable if a respectable bid arrives.

The Friedkin Group should try to find a loan move for Charly Alcaraz instead of a sale

If Everton invite bids for Alcaraz – who adores Beto – this summer, we doubt anyone would pay more than the £12.6m the Toffees spent due to his lack of action this season.

However, as the South American did last season while on loan at Everton, he could boost his value with a productive loan move elsewhere next term.

Still only 23 and with obvious potential, it could backfire on Everton if a permanent sale is sanctioned this summer.

It feels much safer to loan Alcaraz out, a decision which would also allow Moyes the chance to recall the Argentine if need be, like the Glaswegian did with Armstrong back in January.
