Alisson Becker 7

Watched from a distance before the break until saving weak Sallai header and had even less to do in the second half.

Jeremie Frimpong 7

Regularly offered himself as an attacking outlet early on and stuck to defensive task up against Yilmaz. Subbed.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Not always the right choice when clearing into midfield first half but helped by Osimhen being hampered by an arm injury and impressive as game progressed.

Virgil van Dijk 8

Spent most of the opening period playing in midfield and header created chance for Mac Allister. Dominated the weak Galatasaray attack.

Milos Kerkez 9

Roused the crowd early on with some strong challenges and set the tone with an impressive, all-action showing. Very good and still running in last minute.

Ryan Gravenberch 8

Saw a lot of the ball before the break and looked to break through the Galatasaray defensive lines and sparked and finished move for third. Looked so comfortable in possession. Subbed.

Alexis Mac Allister 7

Clever corner delivery for opener and hit the bar from close range with header, forced Cakir into great save second half and had goal disallowed for not very much. Far more lively than of late.

Mohamed Salah 8

More like the Salah of old, constantly on the move and thwarted by two decent Cakir saves before setting up Ekitike for second and smashing in fourth. Injury-enforced substitution a worry, though. Let's not mention the penalty miss.

Dominik Szoboszlai 8

Much more effective back in midfield, snapping into tackles, driving forward, scoring the first well and winning the penalty. He isn't a right-back.

Florian Wirtz 8

Denied by deflection with one close-range effort and, while ostensibly on left, worked hard to find spaces in which to perform and began to find succession of dangerous passes second half. Subbed.

Hugo Ekitike 7

Very mixed bag first half with some clever touches allied with a strange reluctance to run in behind at times. Better after that and took his goal well. Subbed.

One shot blocked.

Win bonus.

Nice to get a few more minutes.
