Manchester City may have a decision to make regarding the long-term future of the player

As per Italian news outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are in the ‘running’ to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City. The Serie A giants may launch a swoop this summer. Marca have recently reported that Barcelona are keen with some unnamed Saudi Arabian sides.

City were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid on Tuesday night. They drew away at West Ham in their last league outing. The North West outfit are back in action this weekend against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva eyed by Juventus

Silva, 31, sees his contract at City expire at the end of the season. He is due to become a free agent in late June as things stand. The versatile forward will be considering his options at this moment in time and he may well fancy a change of scene.

It would be a big blow to lose him for nothing. He has been a great servant to them over recent times and is a popular player among their fanbase. The Portugal international, who has 107 caps to his name, joined back in 2017.

Silva has since made 447 appearances in all competitions, 40 of which have come this term, and he has scored 75 goals. He has won countless trophies under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. The playmaker has the opportunity to try something new now though and may well be weighing up his next move amid his uncertain contract situation with Juventus in the mix.

He rose up through the ranks at Benfica. The Lisbon-born man was a regular for them at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team. AS Monaco then lured him over to Ligue 1 for three years before City swooped in.

Marca’s report last week read: “Without a doubt, Bernardo Silva is positioning himself as one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Several clubs are already monitoring his situation. One of the names most frequently mentioned is Benfica, although Bernardo Silva has been linked primarily with FC Barcelona in recent transfer windows. The Saudi Pro League is also emerging as a strong contender to sign the Portuguese player.”
