Attempting a coup – Ambitious move for Liverpool star and ‘serious offer’ could work

Alisson

Italy, Milan, 2025 12 09: Alisson Becker (Liverpool) goes up and saves in the penalty area in the first half during soccer game FC Inter vs Liverpool FC, UCL 2025-2026 Matchday 6 at San Siro Stadium

Juventus are keen on taking Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker away from the Premier League in the summer.

The Brazil international moved to Europe when AS Roma signed him from Internacional in 2016, a year after national team debut.

He kept 26 clean sheets and conceded 66 goals from 64 matches for Roma between 2016 and 2018. His performances convinced Liverpool to spend €72.5m to bring him to Anfield in July 2018.

Since then, the 33-year-old has been Liverpool’s No.1. His role didn’t change after Giorgi Mamardashvili’s arrival last summer, a year after the Reds reached an agreement with Valencia.

The South American has 13 clean sheets and conceded 36 goals from 34 matches for Arne Slot’s side this season. His stats in the Premier League this season looks impressive.

Juventus keen on Liverpool star

His performances have convinced Juventus to include him in their target list for the next window. Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed news of their plan to secure Alisson’s services.

TuttoMercatoWeb now cover their desire to bring the stopper back to Serie A and why a potential move remains complicated.

Alisson’s agent Ze Maria Ness recently told WinWin he has “just renewed the contract with Liverpool.”

TMW point that out and insist the Reds only exercised the option to extend it for a year. This makes it complicated, but ‘doesn’t rule out’ the negotiations for his transfer.

Juve are chasing the player because Luciano Spalletti wants a goalkeeper as Michele Di Gregorio hasn’t convinced the manager. The latter will leave at the end of the season.

The focus is on Alisson, while Fiorentina’s David de Gea is also on their list. The Old Lady need €15m to take the player, who earns €11m gross per year, away from Liverpool.

These figures are also reported by Tutto Juve. According to the outlet, the Turin club are ‘attempting a coup’ to sign the former Roma man to please Spalletti.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Alisson is the ‘top choice’ for Juventus in the summer.

The Brazilian could consider leaving Liverpool if there’s a ‘serious offer with a solid plan’. In other words, Juve have to convince him with both their sporting project and a financial offer.

Alisson’s contract, value and injuries

Alisson has a contract until 2027, with an option for another year. His contract, as per the agent, has at least extended until 2028.

Transfermarkt value him at €17m, and at his peak, it was €90m in December 2019.

The South American has been injured on three different occasions this season, forcing him to spend 60 days on the sidelines. That allowed Mamardashvili to feature 12 times this season. The Georgian has kept three clean sheets and conceded 18 goals from 12 matches.
