Manchester United‘trying to sign’ 22-year-old–Fight on with PSG

Ange-Yoan Bonny

Manchester United could tussle with Paris Saint-Germain over a summer move for Inter Milan’s Ange-Yoan Bonny.

The Frenchman has caught the attention of a few clubs, including Manchester United and PSG.

He left his country when Parma signed him from Châteauroux in August 2021. The striker spent four years with the Italian club, managing 15 goals and 12 assists from 117 games.

Although these numbers are not that impressive, Inter Milan end up betting on him last summer.

At the San Siro, the 22-year-old competes with Lautaro Martínez, Marcus Thuram and Pio Esposito. He still managed to play 1,235 minutes from 37 matches, scoring seven goals and contributing seven assists.

Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu has utilised him as a substitute as majority of his appearances came off the bench. Below are his Serie A stats from this season.

Expected Goals: 3.24

Expected Assists: 1.48

Big chances created: 4

Big chances missed: 2

Shots on target per game: 0.3

Goal conversion: 26%

The attacker is now attracting both Manchester United and the Ligue 1 winners’ attention.

Manchester United could challenge PSG

That’s according to Media Foot, who cover the Red Devils’ interest in a report focusing on PSG.

The Paris club have a desire to bring Bonny back to France in the summer. PSG advisor Luis Campos is already drawing up a plan which includes improving their attack.

Gonçalo Ramos is likely to leave and at least one new attacker will arrive at the Parc des Princes. This is where Bonny comes into the picture and he’s an option for the Champions League winners as his profile appeals to Luis Enrique.

PSG aren’t alone as there’s ‘lot of interest’ in him. Both Manchester United and Al-Hilal are ‘in the running’ and the two clubs are ‘trying to sign’ the player in the next window.

Bonny would be backup for Red Devils

Ange-Yoan Bonny

He has a contract until 2030 and Transfermarkt value him at €35m. Inter Milan invested €23m to sign the frontman and could demand more than €35m to part ways with him.

Manchester United have Benjamin Šeško and Joshua Zirkzee as their recognised strikers, whilst Bryan Mbeumo has also been used as a No.9. Youngster Chido Obi hasn’t made an appearance this season.

On Wednesday, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Zirkzee’s desire to leave after this season.

His exit could see Bonny take his place at Old Trafford, provided the Red Devils are keen on signing him.

Bonny is represented by P&P Sport Management, and the agency is headed by Italian agent Federico Pastorello.
