He was signed as cover for Jack Grealish, who is out for the rest of the season.
And the move was welcomed by fans, with George having shown some exciting glimpses at Stamford Bridge.
But nearly two months on from joining, George remains on the periphery at Everton – and there’ll be no chance this weekend of him to add to his minutes.

Everton have been crying out for a bit of pace and directness in the wide areas.
So a move for George made sense, and the club hold the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

But it feels like George has rather a lot to do if Everton are going to trigger that buy option.

It’s been a lukewarm start from the 20-year-old, who has only started one Premier League game for the Toffees so far.
In total, he’s played 104 minutes across five appearances – just four of these minutes have come in the last two games.
Fans have been left perplexed by George’s lack of minutes, because he’s generally looked fairly lively when coming on in games.
Annoyingly for George, he’ll have no opportunity to add to his minutes this weekend, because rules state loan players cannot play against their parent clubs.
Everton, of course, are playing against Chelsea at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Dwight McNeil resurgence unhelpful for George
Perhaps one reason as to why George hasn’t been that involved in recent weeks is the resurgence of Dwight McNeil.
McNeil had been on the brink of leaving for Crystal Palace, before they pulled the plug and he ended up staying.

He recently came back into the side, and has done really well.
He’s now started the last three games for Everton and looks to have locked down that right wing spot.
With Iliman Ndiaye in no danger of losing his place on the other side, the situation is tricky for George, who must now wait until April 11 (game vs Brentford) for his next opportunity.
