Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has realised how “amazing” it was that Leicester City’s Premier League title-winners did not let the pressure of such an achievement infiltrate the training ground.
Ten years ago, when City completed their incredible Premier League triumph, Dewsbury-Hall was a 17-year-old scholar in the club’s academy, and so got to witness first hand how the group coped with the momentous nature of their unlikely title push.
Now heading towards his peak years and central to an Everton side trying to qualify for European football, Dewsbury-Hall realises how impressive it was that City’s Premier League champions showed no signs of pressure getting to them.
“It was amazing, to be honest,” Dewsbury-Hall said, reflecting on City’s title win in a Reddit Q+A. “It completely transformed the whole city. I was only a scholar at the time, and just to see the atmosphere and the environment was special.

“I mean, I was lucky enough to train with the first team at points in the season and just to see how calm and relaxed they were throughout the season, with what I know now about football, was amazing, because they were obviously doing something extraordinary and it just felt like it wasn't a big deal to them.
“They were just going in every day, no extra pressure on their shoulders and that really made me, now especially, appreciate that because I know how much pressure would have been on them.
“Like I say, it transformed the city. It was an amazing thing to be around and probably one of the best achievements ever in sports.”
City are a world away from those heights now. On the 10th anniversary of their title win, they will play their final Championship game of the season, away to Blackburn, aiming not to be relegated to League One.
Dewsbury-Hall, meanwhile, is having a terrific season with the Toffees, with six goals and five assists in the Premier League for David Moyes’ side, who are eighth with eight games to go.
