Agent meeting can dictate West Ham or Everton move – Handy signing, low figure

Cesare Casadei

Cesare Casadei

Torino’s Cesare Casadei has improved substantially since his time at Chelsea. Everton and West Ham can now have the chance of bringing him back to England.

The lanky midfielder joined the Turin side in February 2025 on a permanent deal. His development at Stamford Bridge had stagnated, making this spell at Torino very important for his career.

At the time of the move, he explained it was something he’d been looking forward to: “I couldn’t wait. I had been trying for a couple of seasons but, for one reason or another, I was hindered. I had another couple of years in England which, however, were very useful. Now is the right time to put myself to the test in Serie A. And I’m happy about it.”

This season, the Italian has scored four Serie A goals and all of them have come in 2026. That has been crucial, with Il Toro having struggled around the sacking of Marco Baroni some weeks ago.

There is every chance Casadei’s goals play a big role in keeping Torino in Serie A as they are 14th in the table.

In the meantime, the midfielder’s future is growing uncertain.

West Ham and Everton in the background

TuttoSport – via Tuttomercatoweb, report on the 23-year-old, who can depart the Turin side in the summer. Clubs were keen in January but his contract situation can force through a summer deal.

West Ham and Everton are awaiting developments, with Cesare Casadei’s agent Francesco Facchinetti set to have a meeting with Torino soon. A better deal is desired, than the current contract which runs until June 2029.

This can be decisive for a transfer, even if club owner Urbano Cairo admires the midfielder a lot.

It is believed Torino could be happy with a fee of around €15m to €18m. The amount is higher than expected largely because Chelsea have a resale clause of 27.5% on the player.

Transfermakrt value him at €14m.

Handy signing for low figures

Cesare Casadei

In an English context, Cesare Casadei mirrors Scott McTominay in a lot of ways. He isn’t great at receiving the ball in deeper areas or operating play from there. He has always thrived in the final third – like the Napoli player.

Often, he guarantees goals. Italian football fans remember him fondly from the 2023 FIFA U23s World Cup, when Casadei scored seven goals in the tournament. He was also awarded the Most Valuable Player award and the Golden Ball.

At that point, he was also used as a second striker. This shows where his strengths lie as a player, which could prove key for Everton and West Ham.

A deal worth €18m can prove quite handy for the two clubs, especially since Casadei is only 23. The Italian does have technical weaknesses but offers value when used right.
