Leeds United ramp up interest in winger along with Everton and AFC Bournemouth - report

Leeds United are reportedly ramping up interest in Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré along with Everton and AFC Bournemouth.

The 20-year-old is a hot commodity over in Germany, where he has gone from strength to strength at Hoffenheim.

An explosive left-sided winger, Touré has registered two goals and 10 assists across 22 appearances in the Bundesliga this term.

It appears the Ivory Coast international’s rapid ascent has not gone unnoticed, with Premier League clubs having been credited with interest.

Leeds United linked with Bundesliga star

According to SportsBoom, Leeds have ramped up interest in taking the wideman to England.

However, fellow Premier League outfits Everton and Bournemouth are also said to be circling.

It has been suggested a fee in the region of £20-25m would be required to secure his signature, with Touré under contract until 2029.

Lessons to learn for Leeds United

Leeds will need to continue enhancing their squad and learn lessons from their past mistakes if they retain Premier League status.

In the summer of 2021, after the Whites had surged into the top half of the top flight, Marcelo Bielsa’s squad was not strengthened in the manner it should have been.

By 2023, Leeds had tumbled out of the division and took two years to secure a return.

Bazoumana Touré’s career path

Leeds’ current system is more reliant on wing-backs than wingers, although there is no guarantee it will be stuck to for the 2026/27 campaign.

Touré’s pace and direct nature could make him a threat in a side that will not always have the lion’s share of possession.

The winger cut his teeth in the Ivory Coast with ASEC Mimosas, eventually moving to Europe in 2024. He hit the ground running in Sweden with Hammarby, catching the eye of Hoffenheim.

His move to Germany was completed last summer for a reported £12m fee.
