Report: Man Utd now considering £35m Premier League midfielder after Casemiro recommendation

Manchester United’s midfield summer rebuild could see multiple signings, with Bruno Guimaraes reportedly lined up as a potential addition.

The list of midfielders linked to Manchester United in recent months is likely beyond 50 at this point, but now reports indicate Bruno Guimaraes is in advanced talks over joining the Red Devils for a fee of £69m.

Casemiro recommended Guimaraes to United when they began looking for a potential replacement for the departing club cult hero.

Now, with this move presumably in the works, United are also being advised to move for another Brazilian in the form of Andre.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes recommend Andre to Ineos

Casemiro is shaping the future of United’s midfield, even if that doesn’t mean he gives fans the ‘one more year’ that is desperately wanted.

Now, according to The Sun, another recommendation has been made with Casemiro putting forward the name of Andre from Wolves.

The report states that Casemiro is among other United stars, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha, who have issued glowing endorsements of the Brazilian

Andre would cost less than £35m, with his valuation set to plummet after Wolves’ relegation is confirmed, but the midfielder can hold his head high.

United will face interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich for Andre this summer, and for the price, he would be a complete bargain, perfect for that squad depth addition.

This would be a really sensible move by United and a brilliant replacement for Manuel Ugarte.

Andre would be an upgrade on Manuel Ugarte for Manchester United

Signing Andre wouldn’t be to replace Casemiro, as that will be the bigger midfield signing of the summer; instead, the Wolves star will likely be considered a replacement for Ugarte, who is almost certain to depart.

Andre has the same qualities as Ugarte, a ball-winner with high intensity, but the only difference is that he can also play football, assured in possession with cool passing that makes him reliable.

He is effectively a mini-Casemiro, coming into his prime years, and would be a brilliant addition to the squad, considering United could play significantly more games next season, and so rotation will be key.

United are also keen on Joao Gomes, who is Andre’s teammate, which would similarly be a smart budget-friendly addition to the ranks as Ineos look to build a squad that can challenge on all fronts.

It’s encouraging to see United looking at these value Premier League signings, as they could end up being masterstrokes.
