Claret and Hugh has today learned the truth behind West Ham’s reported talks with Chelsea over the permanent signing of central defender Axel Disasi. The Frenchman joined the Hammers on loan from Stamford Bridge in January and has been nothing short of sensational since arriving.
Disasi has been one of the main reasons behind the remarkable transformation of Nuno Espírito Santo’s defence and, as a result, both club and fans would dearly love to sign him permanently.
Reports earlier today centred around claims that West Ham were in talks with Chelsea in an effort to turn the loan move into a full-time deal at the end of the season, should the Hammers remain in the Premier League. As we wrote this morning, sections of the media suggested there had been shock within West Ham at Chelsea’s £38 million valuation of Disasi.

Disasi is understood to be enjoying his time in East London, but it would appear that reports of transfer talks are, at this stage, completely unfounded.
