Manchester United do hold an interest in signing Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano, who provided an update on our Market Madness podcast following reports the Red Devils were in advanced talks over a deal.
Man United look set for a huge summer in the transfer market, with their budget likely to be boosted further if they seal qualification to next season's Champions League.
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick has put them in an excellent position to do that for the first time since the 2023-24 campaign, with the Red Devils currently lying in third position in the Premier League standings.
Despite the poor performances of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Newcastle United in the Champions League last-16 stage, it is expected that a top-five finish in England's top tier will guarantee a spot in Europe's elite club competition next term.

It was reported by Reuters, and the journalist who broke Guimaraes' move from Lyon to Newcastle, in the early hours of Thursday morning that United are in advanced talks over a deal to sign the Brazilian for €80m (£69m).
While the Red Devils are looking for midfielders with Premier League experience, other names have been mentioned more alongside United in recent months.
Guimaraes' Newcastle teammate Sandro Tonali is one, along with Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Brighton and Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba, who are all on their shortlist according to GMS sources.
Romano was asked about the latest update on GIVEMESPORT's Market Madness podcast on Thursday, saying:
"Every day there is a different story about Manchester United and midfielders. I think it's normal because Man United are going to be busy with midfielders this summer, so it could be one or two, so I think it's going to be a very busy summer in that position for Manchester United.
"At the moment Bruno is one of many players they appreciate, but I can guarantee that at this stage there are several candidates to become new Man United midfielder."
Romano: Bruno Guimaraes Deal 'Complicated'

While United do hold an interets in the Brazil international, along with many other midfielders, prising him away from Newcastle this summer will be easier said than done.
Firstly, the Red Devils are likely to face competition from European clubs for his signature, while the Magpies will demand big money for their captain, as they did last summer with Liverpool for Alexander Isak.
Romano added:
"Bruno is really appreciated not only by Man United, don't forget that several clubs around Europe are going to invest in midfielders this summer, so I'm sure he could be part of the conversation. But don't forget how complicated it is to sign top players from Newcastle.
"There is interest for sure, Manchester United appreciate the player, but I could say the same for six or seven players. They are yet to decide which kind of midfielder they want to add to the squad.
"I think it will also depend on the managerial situation, Champions League football, the budget, so there are several factors before they decide who is the player they want, but the appreciation for Bruno is, is clear."
United Summer Transfer Shortlist Emerges
Manchester United senior officials Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada look on
Should Manchester United reach the Champions League, it could be a game-changer in terms of their summer business.
While their desire to add two new central midfielders is well known, they could also look to add a versatile left-sided player, a striker and a right-back should their budget allow.
It could depend on how much they pay to land their desired two midfielders though, amid talk of £100m price tags for many of their targets.
