**John McGinn says Jadon Sancho played his best game for Aston Villa in their 2-0 Europa League win over Lille.**
Villa booked their place in the quarter finals of the competition with a 3-0 aggregate win against the French side.
McGinn opened the scoring for at Villa Park after being set up by Sancho, before Leon Bailey added a second.
And the Scotland international heaped praise on Sancho, who is on loan at Villa for the season.
“I think it was Jadon’s best performance in a Villa shirt,” he said. “He was man of the match by a mile tonight.
“The manager was giving me grief before the game to get in the box and he set me nicely and I managed to put it past the keeper.”
McGinn has recently returned from a knee injury and says he is gradually getting back to full fitness.
“The first half I probably struggled to get up to the speed of the game,” he admitted. “I felt a lot more comfortable on Sunday.
“But as footballers you get a second wind and thankfully in the second half I got a second wind and managed to play past 60 minutes.
“Hopefully on Sunday he keeps me on a bit longer as well.”
