Manchester United are expected to cut ties with the player ahead of next season
Manchester United will demand £21.6million for striker Joshua Zirkzee this summer amid interest from Juventus, according to Italian news outlet TuttoSport. The Serie A outfit may look to strike a loan to buy agreement for the player. His contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2029.
The Red Devils are back in action on Friday night. They face an away trip to AFC Bournemouth as they aim to build on their win over Aston Villa. Michael Carrick’s men are placed in 3rd position in the Premier League table.
Manchester United transfer update regarding Joshua Zirkzee
United snapped up Zirkzee, 24, back in 2024 to boost their attacking department. However, his move to the North West giants hasn’t gone to plan. He has struggled to find his shooting boots in England and his future is now up in the air.
The Holland international, who has six caps to his name, has scored nine goals in 69 matches for the Red Devils to date but only two have come in this campaign. Therefore, a change of scene may do him good for next term. Juventus would be able to provide him with new surroundings and an opportunity for a fresh start.
Zirkzee spent two years at Bologna before United came calling and he found the net on 14 occasions in 58 outings. He has also had spells in the past at Bayern Munich, Parma and Anderlecht. He is down the pecking order right now with his current club and most signs point towards a departure soon.
After signing for United, Zirkzee said at the time: "Having had discussions with the manager and the leaders of the club I know how exciting the future is going to be here and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Manchester United.
"I am a player who has always dedicated everything to winning; I’m ready for this next challenge, to go to another level in my career and win more trophies. It is a privilege to join such an iconic club. I have to take a short break now after being with the national team, but I’ll be coming back ready to make an impact straight away."
