Jesse Marsch is not one of the most popular figures among Leeds United supporters, and Daniel Farke is definitely more popular than the American at Elland Road.
The former Leeds boss is blamed for their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season, even though he was sacked halfway through the campaign.

Farke got Leeds back to the Premier League last year, and his side are three points clear of the relegation zone with eight games left in the season.
Leeds are in a tough fight to survive and need points against Brentford on Saturday. Marsch has broken his silence about Leeds’ challenge and Farke.

Marsch insisted that it will be a challenge for Leeds to stay in the Premier League and feels Farke must ensure that he maintains the calm and remains patient in the final stretch of the season.
He believes the German has done a very good job at Elland Road and has been properly backed by the 49ers, the majority owners of Leeds.
Asked about Leeds’ survival chances, Marsch told GiveMeSport: “It will be a challenge.
“Leeds is a big club. It’s a very emotional club. When you’re the manager there, one of the keys is just to try and maintain calm and patience, and I think Daniel has done a pretty good job of that.”
The 49ers didn’t react to Leeds’ poor form early in the season and decided against sacking Farke, despite being under considerable pressure to do so.
Marsch lauded the Leeds owners for having the patience to see through a long-term vision, and he trusts them to continue to do the same in the coming years.
“I still know the 49ers. They are trying to create stability at the club, and they have a long-term vision. In sport, not just the Premier League or football, the more successful organisations are the ones that have a long-term vision and stick to it.
“The ones that are knee-jerk and think they always need a better idea or solution, or better person or leader, are the ones that get caught in a dangerous cycle.
“I believe the 49ers are the type of people that understand how to create longevity in the sports business, and know how to have a plan and stick to it.”
49ers deserve credit for backing Farke
The Leeds owner came under considerable pressure as Leeds went on a torrid run of form in October and November, and Farke was feeling the heat.
It would have been a popular decision to sack the German then. However, the 49ers decided against making any knee-jerk reaction, and Farke turned it around.

West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham have changed managers this season, but have more of a chance of getting relegated than Leeds this season.
The Whites are not out of danger. But the stability and consistency behind the scenes have given them a good shot of staying up in the Premier League.
