Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Everton target Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Everton were repeatedly mentioned as a suitor for Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy in the January transfer window. The defender’s situation is now gaining attention once again.
The Arsenal graduate has developed really well at Italy’s oldest club. He’s played regularly this season, starting 24 games and impressing a fair bit under Daniele De Rossi.
He’s become a defender who is very capable of carrying the ball forward with pace, showcasing consistency across the season.
Sport Witness reported in January that there was a belief in Genoa about Everton being most advanced in the race for Norton-Cuffy. West Ham were also interested but they were lagging behind.
TuttoSport today take a deeper look at the Englishman, who can leave in the summer.
Three English clubs in for defender
The Turin newspaper place special emphasis on Juventus’ interest in the 22-year-old, with Emil Holm likely to leave to depart.
Juve sporting director Marco Ottolini knows the player well, from when he worked at Genoa himself. He wants to reunite, having signed him from Arsenal in a deal that totalled only€3m.
Juventus are in active discussions with the defender’s entourage, who have ‘requests from home’ as well. Three English clubs have also made contact and it should be easily assumed that Everton are one.
Genoa currently demand €15m to €20m to sell the Englishman, with Juve considering adding players to a potential deal.
This is likely to pose a threat to Everton, especially considering their previous interest.
Why deal can prove key for Toffees
Everton are well placed to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Everton were linked with a host of right-backs in the winter – including Holm himself. Norton-Cuffy is better than the Swede, who has never been consistent across a season.
The Genoa player’s experience in England can also make him an excitement signing. He has the engine to thrive in the Premier League and that is one reason why major Italian sides also like him.
Norton-Cuffy is also at the right age and has quite a high ceiling in his career. In the next few seasons, he could also play for a Champions League club and that speaks volumes for why the Merseyside club should be serious about him.
He’s represented by Roc Nation Sports, a growing name in the agency game.
