Manchester United and Liverpool scouts at same place last night–Fight could be on

FC Midtjylland

Liverpool and Manchester United’s scouts were in attendance for FC Midtjylland’s Europa League defeat to Nottingham Forest on Thursday.

Scouts from across Europe have visited the Danish club’s home stadium, the MCH Arena, throughout this season.

This includes Liverpool and Manchester United, who have been sending their officials to Denmark.

Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the City Ground last Thursday. The return leg took place yesterday at the MCH Arena, and Vítor Pereira overcome the Danish club via a penalty shootout.

Nicolás Domínguez and Ryan Yates got their names on the scoresheet in the 41st and 52nd minute respectively.

Martin Erlić scored for Midtjylland in the 69th minute, making the aggregate score 2-2. This resulted in penalty shootout and Nottingham Forest came on top.

Liverpool and Manchester United send officials

Campo now report Arne Slot’s side and the Red Devils’ officials were present in Herning, to follow Midtjylland’s latest clash live.

It isn’t the first time the Premier League duo have travelled to Denmark. On December 12th, Sport Witness relayed news of Liverpool and Manchester United’s scouts watching the Danish club.

This indicates the two English club continue their scouting mission, and they’re joined by others. Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach, AS Monaco and Ipswich Town also had officials in attendance.

There’s no mention or suggestion of the player[s] that Liverpool, Manchester United and other clubs came to watch.

Players who could be on PL duo’s agenda

Earlier claims indicated Liverpool and Manchester United would have watched Midtjylland’s Darío Osorio, Aral Şimşir and Mikel Gogorza. The trio could be potential summer targets for the Anfield club and Michael Carrick’s side.

Four days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Denmark that Liverpool have Osorio on their radar. The Chilean right winger is also on Arsenal’s agenda, while AFC Bournemouth are ahead in the transfer race.

Osorio, Şimşir and Gogorza are all wingers, with the latter two operating mainly as left wingers.

Osario’s details: 22 years old, six goals and 10 assists from 42 matches this season and Transfermarkt value him €10m.

Şimşir, 23, valued at €6m, has 11 goals and 18 assists, while 19-year-old Gogorza has five goals and three assists. He’s valued at €3m by Transfermarkt.

Should Liverpool and Manchester United be looking at the same player, a fight could be on the cards.
