Brighton back-up keeper Jason Steele is set to be named in Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad.
Steele, 35, has been a reliable back-up keeper for Brighton and understudy to Dutch international Bart Verbruggen.
The former Sunderland man is yet to make a Premier League appearances this term and has five outings in total - three in the Carabao Cup and two in the FA Cup.
“I also want to emphasise that we still have a great second goalkeeper, Jason Steele, who is also, though he's not playing in incredible shape.
“When I see him training every day it's just impressive, and every time we need him he's there. He showed really good performances in the FA Cup game, so therefore he's a really good candidate as well.”
Steele is set to be part of a 35-man squad for the March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan. There are set to be five goalkeepers in total as Steele joins Jordan Pickford (Everton), Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), James Trafford (Manchester City) and Aaron Ramsdale (Newcastle United).
