49ers Enterprises will be aiming to create "longevity" at Rangers after their experiences at Leeds United.

The 49ers sealed a takeover of the Light Blues in the summer alongside Andrew Cavenagh, with the investment wing of the San Francisco 49ers taking control of Leeds United in 2023. Parag Marathe is chairman at Elland Road, and has since stepped down as vice-chairman at Ibrox in a move to solidify the club's position under UEFA rules regarding individuals who have an influence in more than one club.

Canada boss Jesse Marsch has reflected on his time working with the Marathe and the 49ers - who held a minority stake in the club when he was axed back in 2023. But he has lifted the lids on the lessons he learned while working with the club, and revealed he still knows people within the organisation.

Asked by Give Me Sport about the battle for current Leeds boss Daniel Farke to keep United in the Premier League this term, Marsch said: "It will be a challenge. Leeds is a big club.

"It's a very emotional club. When you're the manager there, one of the keys is just to try and maintain calm and patience, and I think Daniel has done a pretty good job of that. I still know the 49ers.

"They are trying to create stability at the club and they have a long-term vision. In sport, not just the Premier League or football, the more successful organisations are the ones that have a long-term vision and stick to it.

"The ones that are knee-jerk and think they always need a better idea or solution, or better person or leader, are the ones that get caught in a dangerous cycle.

"I believe the 49ers are the type of people that understand how to create longevity in sports business, and know how to have a plan and stick to it."
