**The England squad has been announced for the upcoming international break, and it’s quite the result for Newcastle United.**
Thomas Tuchel has named a 35-man camp for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, giving the Three Lions boss one more chance to assess his options ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
From a Newcastle United perspective, we have the small matter of Sunderland at home to tackle first, but there’ll be FIVE Mags heading to St. George’s Park after Sunday’s game.
Thomas Tuchel has selected Lewis Hall in his England squad for upcoming games against Uruguay and Japan: a well deserved reward for the left-back’s outstanding form at club level in recent months.
Aaron Ramsdale is also back in the fold after taking Newcastle’s No.1 spot from Nick Pope, while Dan Burn, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon also make the cut.
No club is better represented in England’s latest squad, with five Newcastle stars more than Arsenal (4) and Man City (4) in the 35-man line up, which you can see in full below.

Looking beyond our five, it’s interesting to see Everton’s James Garner handed his first senior call up. He has been impressive all season and has previously been [tentatively linked](https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2025/11/16/newcastle-watching-20m-premier-league-midfielder-report/) with a move to Tyneside.
AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori has finally been rewarded for his strong form in Italy, while Brighton’s Jason Steele also makes the squad along with Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Kobbie Mainoo is back in after regaining regular starts at Man Utd, as is teammate Harry Maguire, while Dominic Solanke is preferred to misfiring Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
There is no Luke Shaw, handing Hall extra incentive to impress in a bid to lock down that left-back slot ahead of the World Cup this summer.
