2025 Tuchel comment should make Everton star Dewsbury-Hall even more annoyed by England snub…

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has missed out on the chance to join Everton teammates Jordan Pickford and James Garner in the England squad.

The Everton No.22 has enjoyed a tremendous season since his £28m move from Chelsea in August, scoring six goals and assisting another five in 23 Premier League appearances.

Not only that, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has pressed opponents like a terrier this term, putting in immense effort levels which surely make his England snub harder to take.

Dewsbury-Hall deserves to be in the England squad with Garner, do you agree? 🤔

FIVE goalkeepers have been included for some reason! 😡

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has embodied what Thomas Tuchel requested in 2025 but to no avail

Back in May 2025, Tuchel spoke about the importance of staying alert during tournament football. The Guardian quoted the German as saying: “When we are talking, especially about qualifying football and then tournament football, the one defensive error, the one moment where you are not 100% awake, can be decisive. It can be the moment where you pack your suitcases and go home.”

Almost 12 months on from these comments, Dewsbury-Hall stands alone at Everton as the one player who has applied more pressures on opponents in possession this season with 1,594.

That is according to Opta, who spoke to the 27-year-old about the differences between Everton and Chelsea along with other topics during an exclusive interview.

The pressing statistic serves to suggest that Dewsbury-Hall is often “awake” when it comes to his work off the ball, which is exactly what Tuchel placed a keen emphasis on back in May 2025.

That, coupled with the 11 goal involvements, must make his England exclusion hard to take, even more so due to the fact Tuchel has strangely called up five goalkeepers.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the best signings Everton have made in years, isn’t he?!

Not only does he have great final third output, but he's got the work-rate to boot 🔥

Hopefully, the snub can motivate Dewsbury-Hall to perform even better for David Moyes between now and the end of the season, with European football still in sight for the Toffees.
