Soucek far too valuable to West Ham & can’t be sold

**Tomas Soucek is a player that West Ham cannot entertain offers for and should look to get on a new deal.**

That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker, who was talking after rumours began circulating that he Czech international could be set for a move away from east London this summer.

Firstly, it makes little sense considering how vital he has become under Nuno Espírito Santo this season and is clearly seen as a valuable asset to the side.

Secondly, Soucek loves West Ham and has never expressed an interest in departing – even when his future looked uncertain under former boss Graham Potter.

If anything, the argument is there to get a new deal in place to retain Soucek – as he enters his final year on his current deal next season.

Speaking of the noises of a potential exit, Walker stated that it simply cannot happen and he’s a player that still has a lot to offer our club.

“We can’t let Tomas go, he’s too important to us,” said Walker.

“He can still do a good job for West Ham but even if he doesn’t start next season he is a popular senior player that at the very least could play an important part from the bench.”

The feeling is that the rumours are nonsense and simply lazy journalism following the links between former boss David Moyes and Soucek in the summer.
