Bournemouth ‘swooping in’ for €22-27m arrival – Informal discussions begin

Bournemouth target Luis Henrique

Bournemouth are preparing to go back in for Inter Milan’s Luis Henrique, whose future at the Italian side is growing uncertain.

In the January transfer window, Sport Witness extensively covered Cherries interest in the Brazil international.

Bournemouth made a formal offer for the wing-back, who had joined Inter from Marseille in the summer. The Nerazzurri failed to land Ivan Perisic at that point, leading to Luis Henrique staying at the San Siro.

Now, Andoni Iraola’s side are back in the mix and are laying down the foundation of a deal.

Bournemouth hold informal talks

Tuttomercatoweb report today that ‘the Premier League is calling’ for the Brazilian. Bournemouth are ‘swooping in’ on the versatile winger, who has also played as a winger in the past.

They have held informal talks to understand the possibility of a summer move and know Inter’s valuation for a permanent deal.

The Nerazzurri have asked for €22 million plus €5m of bonuses – a figure which is easy to match for English clubs. There is confidence that an agreement could be reached in the summer, with developments expected in the next few weeks.

Inter have been trying to see some improvements in the 24-year-old but they are still not convinced.

Turkish clubs had also come forward for him in January. Other English sides like Aston Villa were also mentioned as suitors but Bournemouth seem further advanced for a summer move.

Luis Henrique could be an Iraola player

In a lot of ways, Luis Henrique is quite similar to Alex Jimenez as a player. He can play a number of positions and adds pace and thrust to attack, boasting an ability to play multiple shapes.

He is also at a very good age who can make an impact in a high-intensity environment.

His problems at Inter have mainly been down to inconsistency in the final third, which might not be as important in the Premier League. His physical attributes will be much more valuable at Bournemouth, with the Nerazzurri also keen on his sale.

Andoni Iraola’s side may have to be wary of interest from other Premier League clubs, though. Inter would love to create an auction and Bournemouth will have to be aware of that.
