Sassuolo said that their squad has been hit by an outbreak of whooping cough on Friday, the day before they are due to take on Juventus in Turin in a Serie A match.
The club said there was one confirmed case of whooping cough while five other members of the team has symptoms that were "compatible" with the disease.
It said the players with symptoms have been isolated, while the squad members without symptoms have undergone preventative healthcare measures.
The club said its has informed the Serie A League about the situation.
