Manchester United are set to tie down Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo to new contracts after positive talks with the players' representatives in recent weeks.
Talks with both parties are now at an advanced stage, and it is expected that they will be formally completed in the coming weeks, keeping Mainoo at Old Trafford on a long-term deal and securing Maguire's future beyond the end of the season.
Mainoo's current deal was due to expire in the summer of 2027, but having signed his contract when he was 17, he was one of the lowest-paid members of the first-team squad.

United always planned to offer the academy graduate a new deal, but talks were placed on hold when he found himself out of the first team under Erik ten Hag.
The Manchester Evening News reported in February that United were confident new terms would be agreed with the 20-year-old before the end of the season. Mainoo is now set to sign a five-year contract that will include a significant pay rise, having started all nine games for Michael Carrick.
Maguire has also started every game under Carrick, returning to the team after an injury lay-off and delivering a string of impressive performances. He turned 33 earlier this month and was out of contract at the end of the season but is set to sign a new one-year contract at Old Trafford, which will include the option of an extra 12 months.
Both Maguire and Mainoo were rewarded for their impressive form since January with a recall to the England squad on Friday. They are part of a 35-man squad for friendlies against Japan and Uruguay and have the chance to impress Thomas Tuchel and try and force their way into the World Cup squad.
First, they will have their mind on club duties when United face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night as Carrick's side look to strengthen their grip on third place in the Premier League.
